Branching Out: The Treehouse Life
You won't believe it, but our chickens have officially decided they're too good for perches—they’ve moved into the trees! It’s a pretty view in the evening, and soon it will be a cool "treehouse" once the leaves are back.
The mornings are still a bit of a struggle, though. Some days begin with the 'joys' of frozen water pipes—just another part of the farm life drama!
To keep the little ones happy, we’ve been piling on the sawdust like thick, fluffy blankets in the baby chicks' coops. But once I crack those side panels open? It’s pure magic. The chickens head straight for the golden sunlight, stretching out their wings and soaking up the morning sun like they haven't a care in the world.
We’re still out there every day weighing down the coops with old tires and stones so they don't take flight. August is a lot of work, but seeing them so cozy and happy makes every flying feather worth it!
Keeps us on our toes, that’s for sure!
