About Us
My husband & I started farming with chickens when we moved to our little patch of heaven. Somehow during all our travels we always ended up working on a farm, picking strawberries, veggies or flowers.​We believe farming is our destiny & in our blood. It's our passion.​Like our flock, our little family was blessed with a pigeon pair & these little munchkins are as passionate about farming as we are... They help with the shoo-ing of the chickens when we move the coops & our young man is doing his "Chicken -fit" when carrying buckets full of feed & water.My daughter still loves the little ones & it's her duty to help with the babies when they move from the brooder their big coop.Our little farm is a family affair & a passion for happy healthy animals.​Our chickens are pasture raised in a movable coop. The coops are moved on a daily basis, to ensure they have a fresh patch of grass everyday to scratch & forage on. They are grain fed, with no antibiotics or growth hormones.​We believe in ethically raising our chickens and giving them a happy life.Remember ethical free range farming is better for the animal, the environment, the taste of the product & your health. Since my dad moved to his little farm, he's been planning to farm sheep. After doing extensive research he decided to breed with Ile de France sheep. They produce quality wool & superb meat, they also breed out of season, resulting in year round supply of lamb.Starting small & growing his herd, he has won numerous awards from Ile de Frans breeder society and SA Stud Book since 2015.During the 2022, SA Studbook Elite awards, Elite Gold was awarded toElcil Ile de France.His herd was also named the top small stock herd of all small stock breeds in Gauteng.It is also the only Ile de France herd that received an Elite Gold award this year.His passion and dedication for the wellbeing of his sheep...The love of farming...That's reflected in all these awardsand good quality meat.
